What are the first 3 words that come to mind when you think of your dog: loving, loyal, quirky
Sisi is a wonderful dog with SO much love to offer. However she is very fearful of people and has bitten in the past when approached. She will initially bark and lunge at people she does not recognize, and it may take her lots of time to adjust to a new environment. Once Sisi trusts a person, she trusts them with her whole heart! She bonds very strongly to one person and is the best sidekick, cuddly, loving, playful and gives lots of kisses. She is always asking for belly rubs and she does a happy dance when she sees her food. She is very smart and loves her puzzle toys, kongs and basic training. Sisi will need a patient and experienced adopter who understands how fear motivates her behaviour and who will give her lots of time to build trust!
Update Sissi has been working very hard on this the last 3 weeks and has gotten better. She will need an owner that will not spoil her and not put her in situations where she thinks she needs to protect you. She is working on her confidence. She will need a strong handler with small dog experience. She cannot be babied and cannot run the show otherwise she will go back to lunging barking and nipping at people. She wasn’t good with dogs however has now been integrated with the small dog group at doggy daycare and doing amazing. She would do well with lots of socialization and people taking the time to allow her to get comfortable. She needs patience and lots of it. She will not be a dog that will cuddle your visitors. They will need to build her trust with completely ignoring her.
