Suitable for which type of housing? House or Townhome

additional to add for housing homes with fenced in back yard and sound proof would be the best for him

Is your dog good with other dogs?   No

additional to add for dog interactions    Selective. Recommended for a home with no other dogs and handlers who can confidently manage interactions with neighbouring dogs. Surrendered following an incident involving a neighbour’s puppy. He is reactive when dogs rush into his face or enter within 2 metres, but remains non-reactive at greater distances and redirects well. His current foster has successfully introduced him to resident large-breed male dogs and neighbouring dogs slowly and on leash. He is interested in meeting other dogs but can become anxious and may attempt to pin them to establish control, particularly when he feels the handler is unable to prevent other dogs from rushing into his face or if the other dogs are too excited and cannot calm down.

Is your dog good with cats?   No

additional to add for cat interactions    Have not lived with any, high prey drive and have killed squirrels. Not recommended with small animals in the home. Can be easily redirected on walks if he spots small animals or outdoor cats.

Is your dog good with kids?   Untested

additional to add for kids interaction    Not lived with any currently or in prior homes. Would recommend older kids as he can be mouthy with treats and playing with toys. Recommend 8+ as he is very friendly.

Is your dog house trained?    Yes

Is your dog crate trained?    In Progress

additional to add for crate training      Will cry and destroy the bedding in the crates when he adjusts to new routines. Sleeps in the crate overnight mostly ok but would cry and howl during wake up hours.

Does your dog have any special needs?     

Pet free home setting to dedicate the one on one time with him, experienced handlers that can manages his dog reactivity and manage slow introduction with all dogs ( please note that his reactivity to dogs shows up when they come closer into his circle of approximately of 2 meters, if he spots dogs on the other side of the road, he is mostly ignorant and walks by fine). Current foster has successfully introduced him to resident and neighbour's dogs slowly and he's fine and takes direction well.

Does your dog display any aggression (toys, food, people)?  Surrendered due to an incident with neighbour's puppy and may become reactive and want to pin fast moving dogs into his face or close circle. Best in a pet free home. No aggression shown towards human.

Is your dog playful?    Yes can be playful with toys.

Does your dog like to snuggle?      He will come up for snuggles but contend to be sleeping by his person's feet.

Does your dog know basic commands? (e.g., Sit, Stay)  Agi has had extensive obedience training and is an extremely intelligent boy.  He has participated in skijorking, bikejorking and dog sledding, for fun.  He knows all the basic commands and is eager to please.

Does your dog like to go on walks?  Yes and walks well mostly ( reactive with another dog if a dog comes up to his face quickly or in shared sidewalk space - can be quickly redirected or change direction). Agi is not a candidate for off-leash areas or dog parks. He will be happiest with structured walks and carefully managed dog introductions.

Does your dog have any fears? N/A

Does your dog have any unique traits (personality or physical)?   He looks like he has smokey eyes, very sweet smile.

What are the first three words that come to mind when you think of your dog?  Soulful, demure and intelligent

In a short paragraph, please provide any other details or a brief overview of your foster dog.  

Agi is a 6-year-old neutered Husky x Shepherd who is an intelligent, affectionate, and well-trained boy. He knows his basic commands, walks well with structure, and enjoys toys and activities such as skijoring, bikejoring, and recreational dog sledding. Agi would do best in a pet-free home with experienced handlers who can confidently manage his dog reactivity and provide slow, controlled introductions when needed. He is selective with dogs and can become reactive when they enter his approximately 2-metre space, particularly if they rush toward his face or are overly excited, but he is generally neutral at greater distances and redirects well. He has successfully been introduced to resident and neighbouring dogs in his current foster home. He has a high prey drive and is not recommended for homes with cats or small animals. Agi is house trained, crate training is in progress as he takes a while to adjust to new routines, and he would benefit from a home with a securely fenced yard and a calm, structured environment. He is very sweet with people, enjoys snuggles, and is happiest resting near his person’s feet.
