We are a 100% volunteer-run rescue based in the Ottawa region, so we appreciate your patience and understanding throughout the process.
Suitable for which type of housing? Any
Additional to add for housing: Axel could thrive in any type of housing.
Is your dog good with other dogs? Yes
Additional to add for dog interactions: He loves other dogs!
Is your dog good with cats? Untested
Additional to add for cat interactions: He has not met any cats but I think he could do well with them
Is your dog good with kids? Yes
Additional to add for kids interaction: Although he doesn't live with any children he has met a child and he did well. He dies not like to be randomly grabbed and chased by children so the children would need to understand proper boundaries. He does occasionally nibble on fingers.
Is your dog house trained? In Progress
Additional to add for house training: He is a puppy and will need to continue to work on his house training
Is your dog crate trained? In Progress
Additional to add for crate training: He does well overnight. He is not left in the crate often during the day but has been happy to go in during the day when he is tired. His new family will need to continue to work with him.
Does your dog have any special needs? No. Like all puppies, Axel will need love, patients and training.
Does your dog display any aggression (toys, food, people)? None.
Is your dog playful? Very! He loves to play with people and other dogs.
Does your dog like to snuggle? Yes! Axel's favourite place to nap is right beside his people. He would be happy to cuddle up with you all winter long.
Does your dog know basic commands? (e.g., Sit, Stay) Not yet! But is very food motivated!
Does your dog know any special tricks? Not yet!
Does your dog like to go on walks? Axel has not been able to go on any walks yet but I think he will love to go explore!
Does your dog have any fears? He can be a bit nervous when he hears loud noises (or when the other dogs bark). He will need someone to continue his training to help with his confidence.
Does your dog have any unique traits (personality or physical)? He has cute little legs!
What are the first three words that come to mind when you think of your dog? Silly, cuddly, loving

Axel is a wonderful puppy. He loves other dogs and people. He likes to go in his crate at night (he has even tried to put himself to bed before). Axel also sleeps through the night (although enjoys waking up early). Overall Axel is quiet however when he hears a loud noise he occasionally barks at it.
Axel is looking for the perfect family to take him on adventures, who will play with him and take the time to train him into the best dog he can be!
