BEAUREGARD'S PICS

    BEAUREGARD'S BIO

BREED : WOLFHOUND X COLLIE X BLUE MERLE AUSSIE MIX - MALE - 6 MONTHS OLD

    • Suitable for which type of housing? (House, townhome, apartment?)
Detached housing or well sound-proofed attached housing with a backyard.
    • Is your dog good with other dogs?
Yes, very good! He lives with four other dogs and is respectful when corrected. It is highly recommended he be rehomed with another social, outgoing, and playful dog. He may sometimes hump during play if the other dog allows it.
    • Is your dog good with cats?
Untested. He doesn’t show much interest in small moving animals in the backyard. With a slow introduction, he could likely live with cats.
    • Is your dog good with kids?
Untested. He can be initially shy and may shrink back with sudden movements or grabbing. He would do best with dog-savvy kids aged 7+ who can respect his space and give him time to warm up.
    • Is your dog house trained?
Yes, but due to his young age, we assume there may be some regression when transitioning to a new home. He is let out frequently to help him remember where the backyard is.
    • Is your dog crate trained?
In progress. He sleeps overnight in a crate as long as he has visual access to a human. He does well overnight in these conditions. However, if crated unexpectedly or without visual contact, he can become stressed, may cry for extended periods, and occasionally stress-poop. He does not settle easily with food or bones but can be left alone in a puppy-proof room with another dog.
    • Does your dog have any special needs?
He is on the timid side and may cower if approached too quickly. He should be rehomed with a friendly, confident dog who can help him build trust and confidence. He may take a few days to warm up to new people and begin accepting treats or affection.
    • Does your dog have any or display any aggression? (Toys, food or people?)
None noted. He is very sweet.
    • Is your dog playful?
      Yes, especially with other dogs.
    • Does your dog like to snuggle?
Not really. He is timid with new people and may take time to enjoy physical affection. He snuggles with his foster siblings though.
    • Does your dog know basic commands? (Sit, stay...)
Not yet. He is timid and takes longer to engage with humans, especially when it comes to taking treats or learning new things.
    • Does your dog know any special tricks?
      None.
    • Does your dog like to go on walks?
He is not yet fully vaccinated, so he hasn’t started going on walks. He may be fearful and a flight risk at first, so careful, gradual exposure, double leashing/sturdy harness is advised.
    • Does your dog have any fears?
He has an overall timid nature. New people or fast movements can cause him to cower, hide, or run away. A calm environment and a confident canine companion are recommended to help him settle in and gain confidence.
    • Does your dog have any unique traits that you have noticed whether in personality or physically?
He has an adorable little moppy hairdo—like a grey teddy bear and sometimes you can barely make out his eyes! His back end is black, making it look like he either sat in black paint or is wearing black snow pants.
    • What are the three first words that come to mind when you think of your dog?
Timid, mischievous (once he opens up), mop

    • Beauregard is a sweet 5–6 month old pup, a unique mix of Wolfhound, Collie, and Blue Merle Aussie, weighing around 35–40 lbs and expected to grow into a large dog. He has a gentle, timid nature and is still learning to build confidence in new environments. He thrives in a home with a secure backyard and would do best with a friendly, social dog to help him feel safe and encourage play and or human that are experienced and patient with timid dogs/animals. Though shy at first, Beauregard is playful with other dogs and shows no signs of aggression. He is crate-trained overnight (as long as he can see his human) and house-trained, though his young age means some patience may be needed during transitions. With his adorable moppy hair and sweet demeanor, Beauregard is sure to steal hearts—but he’ll need a calm, understanding family to help him shine.
