FRECKLES' PICS

    FRECKLES' BIO

    BREED : WOLFHOUND X - FEMALE - 6 MONTHS OLD

    • Suitable for which type of housing? (House, townhome, apartment?)
Detached housing or attached housing with a backyard.
    • Is your dog good with other dogs?
Yes, very good with medium to large breed dogs! She loves to play with her foster siblings. Would do better with medium to large breeds as she loves to play but doesn't understand her size with small dogs. It is highly recommended she be rehomed with another social, outgoing, and playful dog.
    • Is your dog good with cats?
She wants to play with cats or try to get them to play with her, so dog savvy cats would be okay.
    • Is your dog good with kids?
Untested. She can be initially shy and may shrink back with sudden movements or grabbing. She would do best with dog-savvy kids aged 7+ who can respect her space and give her time to warm up.
    • Is your dog house trained?
Yes, but due to her young age, we assume there may be some regression when transitioning to a new home. She is let out frequently to help her remember where the backyard is.
    • Is your dog crate trained?
In progress. She sleeps great overnight in a crate as long as she is in the same room and can see her person, or she will voice her disapproval.  Crated during the day she will become stressed and may cry for extended periods. If needed to be left alone, she would do best in a puppy-proof room with another dog.
    • Does your dog have any special needs?
She is a bit timid and may cower or run away if approached too quickly. She should be rehomed with a friendly, confident dog who can help her build trust and confidence. She may take a few days to warm up to new people. She has separation anxiety if left alone during the day in a crate and will cry.
    • Does your dog have any or display any aggression? (Toys, food or people?)
Not at all. She is very sweet and gentle.
    • Is your dog playful?
Yes, Freckles loves to play with other dogs and tries to get them to play with her.
    • Does your dog like to snuggle?
She is shy and learning to trust humans. She likes to get affection and give kisses once she has learned to trust. She is getting braver every day. She loves to snuggle with her foster siblings.
    • Does your dog know basic commands? (Sit, stay...)
Freckles is very smart and a fast learner. She knows sit, come, in your crate, outside, and no.
    • Does your dog know any special tricks?
      None.
    • Does your dog like to go on walks?
She loves to go on walks and does well when she can walk beside another dog. She does pull, and we are working on this. Puppy classes would help her be the best walker
    • Does your dog have any fears?
Freckles is shy at first and will need patience from her family. She is getting braver every day. A playful confident dog will help her gain her confidence.
    • Does your dog have any unique traits that you have noticed whether in personality or physically?
Freckels has beautiful markings. She prances when she walks.
    • What are the three first words that come to mind when you think of your dog?
      Smart. Gentle. Sweet.

    • Freckles is a smart girl who is learning quickly. She is shy at first and may take some time to warm up to people but loves having a fur friend.  Once she learns to trust, she loves to get affection, gives kisses, and follows her foster siblings everywhere. She would do best in a home with a secure backyard and a friendly, social dog to help her feel safe and a human or family that are patient with timid dogs. She is smart so she needs activities for mental stimulation. Freckles may take a little time to fully trust, but beneath her initial shyness lies a sweet gentle heart longing for a connection.
