BREED : AUSTRALIAN SHEPHERD X - MALE - 3 YEARS OLD
- Suitable for which type of housing: House or townhouse with a fenced in yard as he is he is high energy and relatively big.
- Is he good with other dogs? Yes but he nibbles a lot (common with his breed).
- He is very energetic and loves to play with other dogs
- Is he good with cats ? Yes he is, he does not have a prey drive but he is very curious and can bark at them sometimes.
- Is he good with kids? Yes, but does jump occasionally. The kids help burn off his energy, running around in the backyard with him.
- Is he house-trained? Yes.
- Is he crate-trained? Barks a bit after being crated when you leave. He's crated for 6 hours during the day while we're at work.
- Does he have any special needs? No.
- Does he have any or display any aggression? No. Tested when eating and we can take toys and food away and no reaction.
- Is he playful? Yes, very. Loves running around in the back yard, chewing sticks and playing fetch
- Does he like to snuggle? Yes, a lot. He comes on you, next to you. Loves being around people
- Does he know basic commands? Yes: sit, stay, and shake a paw. Working on come and lie down
- Does he know any special tricks? No, not yet.
- Does he like to go on walks? Yes, he's very well behaved on leash. Doesn't pull unless you walk him after hes been crated all day, not phased by people walking by or other animals. Needs a yard to expend some energy prior to going for a walk or else he pulls.
- Does he have any fears? Vacuum only, but he shows submissiveness towards humans and other dogs at first contact. Does he have unique traits that you have noticed whether in personality or physically? He is a big licker, he has two colors for eyes. Hes a chewer; watch shoes and boots.
- What are the first three words that come to mind when you think of him? Playful, energetic and cuddly.
- He is a very lovely dog; very food and attention driven. He is also very smart and he is learning very fast. He is a great companion for families, other young dogs and young couples. He loves to play outside and inside. He displays a lot of puppy behaviours. He is also very friendly and trusting to guests, even cuddles with them. I think with another dog or older kids will help with his energy levels.
