Mazy has been in care for almost a year and she has tried many family dynamics and settings.
She is also actively trying to improve on her fear with new people, particularly men, with her foster family. Mazy has now been crate trained and understands that is her safe spot when there are new people in the home. Her crate training has set her up for success with house training and bathroom schedules. Mazy has also been working on her leash manner to prevent sudden pulls or lunges on walks that are caused by her excitement/fear. She walks well with her halti harness and gets lots of rewards on walks.
Mazy would see the most amount of success in a home that has low coming and going, someone experienced in reading her signs as well as giving her structures and boundaries like continuing her crate schedules and halti training. She would be best to place in a home with a female handler (male visitors are ok as long as the handler can set Mazy up for her crate routine). Mazy, once comfortable, MAY retest her boundaries once she is out of her shell and would need someone that is experienced in keep Mazy in line. With the proper structures and boundaries, it is easier to give Mazy the confidence to trust her handler. Mazy will be your bestest friend once she starts to trust her handler and out of her shell. Mazy is VERY smart but can be mischievous and stubborn at times.
