- Suitable for which type of housing? (House, townhome, apartment?) Any, but can be vocal occasionally.
- Is your dog good with other dogs? Yes, he is usually pretty neutral on walks. He likes to play with his doggy friends and is pretty confident and friendly. Although, he gets stressed having new dogs come into his home.
- Is your dog good with cats? He barks at cats and would most likely chase. With proper exposure he would most likely lose interest, but has not been tested.
- Is your dog good with kids? He gets overstimulated with young kids and would be too mouthy. He does best with a calmer environment.
- Is your dog house trained? Yes. He never has accidents and will give a sign that he needs to head out. He does his potties right away when taken out.
- Is your dog crate trained? Yes, he sleeps in a covered crate at night and when home alone (up to 4 hours). He will sometimes whine a bit, but is generally very good and will sleep happily.
- Does your dog have any special needs? No.
- Does your dog have any or display any aggression? (Toys, food or people?) No. He does have high drive for toys and food, so need to be careful when hand feeding/playing. He will bark if something/ someone is scaring him or if he is uncomfortable/stressed.
- Is your dog playful? Yes, he is super playful! He loves to play with his people (tug, flirt pole, training, fetch etc.).
- Does your dog like to snuggle? He likes to be close to his people and will sit on the couch with you to nap. He also loves pets/scratches.
- Does your dog know basic commands? (Sit, stay...) Yes, he has a lot of training.
- Does your dog know any special tricks? Yes, lots. He loves learning new tricks.
- Does your dog like to go on walks? Yes, he loves to walk and sniff.
- Does your dog have any fears? Nothing specific or that sticks. He adapts to most things with proper exposure/familiarity.
- Does your dog have any unique traits that you have noticed whether in personality or physically? He has ears with a mind of their own. Sometimes they flop up, sideways or down depending on the day.

- Merlin is a very sweet and goofy dog. He’s got a big personality and likes to be the centre of attention. He is confident and loves to explore. He is still working on settling in new places, so he would benefit from a calm home environment. He would also love to have a family who has training experience and/or experience owning a working dog. He’s got a lot of toy/food drive and is eager to work/please. He’d be a great dog for someone interested in trying dog sports or who’s passionate about dog training. He does best with a confident handler, who is able to set clear boundaries and set him up for success.
