FREEDOM DOG RESCUE

FREEDOM DOG RESCUE FREEDOM DOG RESCUE FREEDOM DOG RESCUE

MULLY'S PICS

    MULLY'S BIO

    BREED : AUTRALIAN GOLDEN HUSKY X - MALE - 1 YEARS OLD

Suitable for which type of housing? (House, townhome, apartment?) Detached home with a yard would be best but he would also be fine in a townhome. Due to his size and energy level, an apartment would not be suitable.

Is your dog good with other dogs? Yes, he currently lives with two other dogs. He has quickly learned which of our dogs is his playmate and which would prefer to be left alone. Mully plays great and is good at sharing toys, however like many northern breeds, he loves his food and treats and has shown some resource guarding (this has improved in the time he has been with us). If he is going live with another dog, he will need an experienced owner to provide firm structure and boundaries between dogs and around food.

Is your dog good with cats? Untested with cats

Is your dog good with kids? Yes, however due to his size and strength, I would suggest teens +

Is your dog house trained? Yes, he is fully house trained

Is your dog crate trained? Yes, he doesn’t like going in his crate but is easily coaxed with a cookie. Once in his crate, he settles quickly and is quiet

Does your dog have any special needs? No

Does your dog have any or display any aggression? (Toys, food or people?) We have not observed aggressive behaviour in Mully aside from a bit of resource guarding (mentioned above) which has been easy to manage with boundaries and separate feeding.

Is your dog playful? Yes, he likes his toys and has a very silly personality that keeps us laughing. He loves to do zoomies, and play with both dogs and humans.

Does your dog like to snuggle? Yes, Mully loves to snuggle up next to you. He is trained not to go on furniture but will happily curl up at your feet. He loves his humans and wants to be close to them. He also loves getting scratches, tummy rubs and kisses.

Does your dog know basic commands? (Sit, stay…) Yes, Mully is a smart boy who knows sit, lie down, shake a paw, gentle, and we’re working on stay and heal.

Does your dog know any special tricks? Just the tricks above

Does your dog like to go on walks? Yes, he loves going on walks, however gets excited when he sees other dogs, and is still working on his leash manners. Mully will need a strong, confident owner to continue working with him on being the best leash walker he can be.

Does your dog have any fears? No fears observed

Does your dog have any unique traits that you have noticed whether in personality or physically? No

What are the three first words that come to mind when you think of your dog? Silly, curious, sweet

In a short paragraph, please provide any other details or a brief overview of your foster dog.

Mully is a handsome northern boy who has had quite the journey getting to Ottawa. He has had a solid foundation of training and is eager to keep learning. His goofy and happy personality has kept us laughing, he is full of charm and we’ve started calling him ‘our big baby.’ He loves humans and other dogs and always has a smile on his face.

Mully would thrive in a home with experienced dog owners who are committed to continuing his training and providing the structure and boundaries that will help him thrive He would do well as the only dog or with a dog of similar size and energy who can help reinforce good manners.

An ideal home for Mully would be with a fenced backyard where he can burn off energy and roll around like the silly boy he is. Mully is truly a sweetheart, he’s smart, eager to learn, and affectionate. He will be a loving and loyal companion for a family who is ready to give him the structure, love and forever home he deserves.
