- Suitable for which type of housing? (House, townhome, apartment?) House or townhome.
- Is your dog good with other dogs? Yes, would be fine to live without another dog or with one that is okay with her energy/playfulness. Excited and pulls to see others on walks, learning to be calmer.
- Is your dog good with cats? Untested, but not recommended.
- Is your dog good with kids? Yes, but not suitable to live with young kids/busy loud household. Kids 12+ to live with.
- Is your dog house trained? Yes, can be left at home for an average work day.
- Is your dog crate trained? In foster home, stays in a spare bedroom when home alone. She didn’t use a crate in her previous home. Whines when contained to a crate or bedroom but does settle.
- Does your dog have any special needs? Needs anxiety medication to visit the vet or groomers.
- Does your dog have any or display any aggression? (Toys, food or people?) See below under ‘fears’.
- Is your dog playful? Yes, loves playing with toys, playing fetch and running around. Barks when she’s excited.
- Does your dog like to snuggle? Loves pets, booty scritches and being around people in general.
- Does your dog know basic commands? (Sit, stay...) Her name, sit, paw, come, no and off.
- Does your dog know any special tricks? She’s taught herself to pick up her leash and take it to the door when it’s time for a walk.
- Does your dog like to go on walks? Yes, can easily walk 7+ km a day. Learning how to walk on leash and not pull, a head collar/halti or martingale collar is recommended.
- Does your dog have any fears? Her feet being touched, specifically the back ones. Very afraid of the vet and groomer, would recommend muzzling and/or using medication at these appointments
- Does your dog have any unique traits that you have noticed whether in personality or physically? She loves to lean against you and nudge your hand for pets.
- What are the three first words that come to mind when you think of your dog? Loving, energetic and playful.
- Kayla is a very loving, sweet girl who is looking for an active family without young children. She is med-high energy, likes playing with her toys, running in the yard and going for long walks or taking a nap beside you while you watch a movie. She is learning her leash manners, not pulling towards squirrels and other dogs that she wants to meet. She is currently being fostered with calm 45 lb dog. She would do well living with another dog who likes to play or being the only dog in the house to hog all the attention to herself. Kayla has had a lot of changes in her life recently and is looking forward to finding a furever home.
